UDYAM 4.0 Nayi DISHA Enabling Digital Transformation in MSMEs

Through this initiative, NASSCOM CoE aims to help MSMEs find tech-based solutions to their challenges by bringing together industry leaders, solution providers and policy makers.

Realising the potential among MSMEs for adoption of technology, NASSCOM Centre of Excellence – IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI), initiated UDYAM 4.0 – Nayi DISHA to address issues faced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) such as skill gap in digital technologies, unavailability of budgets to deploy new solutions, and limited access to solution providers.
UDYAM 4.0 platform is based on a theme named Nayi DISHA, where NASSCOM CoE will enable MSMEs find ‘Digital Innovative Solutions Helping AtmaNirbharta’. NASSCOM CoE has a diverse pool of deep-tech startups and tech SMEs working tirelessly to explore innovative solutions using Industry 4.0 technologies including AI, ML, IoT and so on. NASSCOM CoE has an ecosystem where manufacturing MSMEs, Technology firms (in MSME space), and Deeptech Start-ups can collaborate to find and adopt low cost and easy to deploy digital solutions.
NASSCOM Centre of Excellence (CoE) for IoT, is a Digital India initiative led jointly by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat and NASSCOM. It is the largest existing innovation ecosystem to help accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 solutions by bringing together enterprises, government, researchers and innovators.
The CoE aims to make India a global hub for Industry 4.0 by redefining enterprise entrepreneur engagement. In the light of its objective NASSCOM CoE runs several programs and initiatives to develop an ecosystem for AI and IoT in the country. Manufacturing Innovation Challenge (MIC), Fusion 4.0 – Virtual Conference, GrowX-Startup Accelerator Program, Smart Manufacturing Competence Centre and Udyam 4.0 – Nayi DISHA are some of the flagship programs to enable the overall ecosystem for co-creation and strengthening manufacturing sector in their digital transformation journey.
India has the potential to deliver Industry not only at a rapid scale but also in a cost effective and sustainable way through frugal innovative and easy to deploy solutions. Manufacturing enterprises including MSMEs are keen to embrace this digital culture quite positively by upgrading from basic level of automation to end-to-end digitalisation.
Tackling real world challenges in manufacturing using innovation derived from emerging technologies is imperative for the enterprises today as digital solutions are helping to maximise production throughput, minimise equipment downtime, resource optimisation and building predictable and resilient supply chains.
Udyam 4.0 – Nayi DISHA can considerably help the MSME sector with automation quality inspection, low cost and easy to deploy digital solution demonstrations, condition monitoring/ predictive maintenance of high-value assets, workers health and safety AR/VR based remote assisted operations and training, smart energy management, workflow automation to improve quality and efficiency and real-time asset tracking for supply chain management, etc. This also included thousands of more perks Industry 4.0 will provide with crucial support for growth and improvement.
NASSCOM CoE will be hosting the second edition of UDYAM 4.0 Nayi DISHA on June 30th, between 3.00 pm and 6.00 pm. The three hours of virtual conference is aimed to bring MSME manufacturing leaders, government leaders and innovators on one platform to discuss the possible solutions which are cost effective and easy to deploy for MSME manufacturing enterprises.
With the goal of assisting MSMEs and creating a collaborative environment to be Atmanirbhar in January NASSCOM CoE had launched Udyam 4.0 – Nayi DISHA – Digital Innovative Solutions through a virtual conference.
Following the success of the first edition, the second edition – “Digital Innovative Solutions for Helping AtmaNirbharta” is launched, the agenda being ‘Co-creation’ – Evolving Business Models for MSMEs to Digitise in the New Normal and Frugal Industry 4.0 Solution. The event will cover three topics such as Resource Optimisation through technology upgradation, Shaping up MSME Ecosystem through Technology and Innovation and Co-creation – Evolving business models for MSMEs to digitise in the new normal
